An OTT assist doctors, anaesthetist and surgeons during surgery or emergency procedures and they make certain that every operation protocols and ethics are being followed properly. They carry out the procedure under the command of a surgeon. The course has the aim to train students in handling a variety of operating instruments used in operation theaters. An OTT has the duty to oversee and manage operation theater. They assist doctors and surgeons during surgery. The responsibility of OTT is in direct and indirect patient care, equipment set up and operation procedures.

    • Manage hazardous waste
    • Prepare and maintain operation theater

    • Maintain equipment support an acute care environment

    • Manage work to meet requirements
    • Follow infection control practices
    • Maintain a safe, healthy and secure working environment
    • Provide intra-operative equipment and technical support
    • Follow radiation safety guidelines
